Hey, I'm Michaela...

I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina majoring in Public Relations.

Communications has become such an integral part of the 21st century and I believe making genuine connections and the value of a good message can be some of the most powerful tools used today. I'm passionate about public relations and helping others create meaningful human connections.

Growing up in the Bay Area I was fortunate enough to experience a wide variety of cultures and diversity. I learned at an early age the value of being able to communicate with many different people and knew a field in communications is where I wanted to be. My time in South Carolina has only helped to expand my horizons to the many different channels and aspects revolving around the area of communications. 

 

While there I have developed a love for visual communications and journalism, joining groups such as Student Gamecock Television (SGTV) and UofSC Media PR Team. I had the opportunity to branch out of my major and get hands-on experience in a newsroom and in the world of graphic design. You can find more of my experience on my resume. 

 

Since we're here to get to know each other better here are some fun facts about me: ​

• I am a YA romance novel enthusiast and proudly admit to reading and enjoying almost, if not all, the works of Sarah Dessen.

• When finding new music I focus on whether or not the song makes me feel like I'm in a movie before I decide if I like it or not. If I can't see it being used for a montage of my life then where's the fun in that? 

• I am apparently slightly allergic to avocados, but who can stay away from those green orbs of deliciousness?
